Founded in April, 1978, Escribiente is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of calligraphy in our greater community through regular meetings, exhibitions and workshops.

Escribiente concentrates on creative lettering and related arts, techniques and subjects such as:

  • Medium: How to use and select inks, paints, pencils, pens, pastels, and more
  • Paper: types, selection, weight, sizing, plus what works best with different medium
  • Writing instruments and care of them
  • History of Calligraphy
